Conventions and Conferences

The Tulsa area is big enough to host several significant IT-centric conventions throughout the year. There are even more if you’re willing to travel to Oklahoma City or Northwest Arkansas. Here are some we know about.

Bsides Oklahoma – A large security-centric event typically held in the Spring. Free to attend, with paid training opportunities in the days ahead of the conference. Normally held in April, the last one took place virtually July 22nd-24th, 2020

INTERFACE Dallas/Oklahoma – 25 February 2021 – Information Security Virtual Conference

Tulsa Cyber Summit – 15-16 March 2021 – ** Former NSA Director Admiral Michael Rogers and internationally renowned security technologist Bruce Schneier.

S3CCON 2021– 24-26 March 2021 – An infosec conference

OGITA Technology and Education Conference – 15 April 2021 – A MUST for IT people in government.

OSU Cyber Security Conference – 21-22 April 2021

Oklahoma IT Symposium – A large 2 day event covering a variety of current topics. Scheduled for August 26-27th, 2021

Information Warfare Summit 14 – 6 October 2021 – Hosted by InfraGard – always a great conference!

Innotech – A large business and technology conference typically held at the Cox Convention center in OKC. Scheduled for October 2021.

Thunderplains Developer Conference – held simultaneously with Innotech.

Regular Meetings

Almost every discipline within technology has some group that still meets to discuss the latest news and share their knowledge.

  • Web Developers – Meets once a month, often on the first Tuesday as part of the Techlahoma Hack Night
  • .NET Developers (aka Tulsa Developers Association) – Meets virtually twice a month
  • Java Developers
  • Game Developers – Meets once a month on the first Tuesday during the Techlahoma Hack Night
  • Tech on Tap – Sadly this seems to have died since Robert Half abandoned Tulsa during the pandemic.
